We have been exploring the synthesis and catalytic/ electrocatalytic applications of metal, metal oxide, and metal/metal oxide interfacial nanomaterials for energy and environmental-related reactions. Our primary focus is to synthesize nanomaterials of various morphology and size along with diverse compositions to elucidate the structure-property relations to their catalytic/ electrocatalytic activities. Notably, we are interested in developing selective and stable Pd-based bi/ trimetallic and redox-active metal oxides (e.g. cobalt oxide, manganese oxide, cerium oxide, etc.) and their composites for oxygen electrocatalysis. In addition, we are also evaluating the electrocatalysts for the oxidation of polyalcohols, urea, and formic acid. Currently, our focus is centered on developing bifunctional electrocatalysts.
